The three BKDI Directors – Ross Roy, Jean Guy Beliveau and Bill Mitchell – participated in the Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s Hockey Tournament this past weekend. As members of the RioCan Black Aces, they were able to select Joel Otto (formerly of the Calgary Flames) at the Friday evening draft. Joel quickly became the centerpiece of their team for the duration of the tournament which included three games against former NHL greats Marty McSorley, Gary Roberts and Lanny McDonald! The competition was tough and fortunately Joel was able to recruit some reinforcements out to assist the Black Aces in time for their two Sunday afternoon games… and they needed it! Thanks to Colin Patterson, Zarley Zalapski, German Titov and Jim Peplinski for lending a hand!
In total, approximately $1.5 million was raised to support the Gordie and Colleen Howe Fund for Alzheimer’s. Thanks for providing your support and helping the RioCan Black Aces “Stick it to Alzheimer’s!”
