Proud Supporter of the Alberta Public Art Summit!

Last updated 6 years ago

BKDI Architects is a proud supporter of the 2012 Alberta Public Art Summit. The Summit was held this past weekend in Calgary with over 50 representatives from 15 different municipalities from across Alberta. The Summit is a chance for public art administrators from all over Alberta to get together to share ideas, collaborate and discuss the development of future public art strategies while “promoting and strengthening the field of public art in Alberta”.

Stephen Bugbee, Partner and VP of Design at BKDI Architects and member of the Calgary Public Art Board for two years, was the facilitator for one of the Summit workshops which discussed the success and issues around working with visiting artists.

A number of other agenda items included a presentation by City of Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and the Calgary Public Art Superintendent Rachael Seupersad, remarks from the Minister of Culture, Heather Klinchuk, and a tour of the Thinking Big Calgary: Unveiling Public Art Projects exhibit presented by The City of Calgary’s Public Art Program.
